As a member of Ryan’s tax.com organization, this position will be responsible for defining and implementing the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring that the IT landscape aligns with business goals, and driving innovation across the organization. Enterprise Architect will oversee a team of architects and specialists, including solution, data, application, infrastructure, and security architects, as well as business analysts and project managers. Best-equipped candidates will be proficient in front-end frameworks (e.g., angular, react), C# and .NET, SQL, web services and web APIs. Candidates must also be highly proficient in cloud services (Azure / AWS), distributed cloud-native systems, and micro-services. This position will include leading or managing an architecture team, but it remains very hands-on. The candidate will play a significant role in building, developing, and maintaining our software portfolio solutions.

• Help define the overall enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s business objectives.
• Help develop and maintain architecture principles, frameworks, and standards.
• Lead the evaluation of new technologies, platforms, and other initiatives to determine alignment with the enterprise strategy.
• Collaborate with senior executives, business stakeholders, and technology teams to define strategic technology initiatives.
• Work with solution architects to design scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise solutions that align with enterprise standards.
• Ensure architecture designs are aligned with business goals, providing flexibility to adapt to future business and technology needs.
• Oversee the architectural design of systems, integrations, and processes, ensuring they are optimized for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Participate in cross-training activities as required.
• Work with external vendors when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s and / or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent related work experience. 15+ years of practical application development and 10+ years of architecture experience Computer Skills:

• Languages: Typescript, JavaScript (ES5/ES6), HTML, CSS, C#, and SQL
• Frameworks: Angular, React, Bootstrap, .NET
• Deep knowledge of cloud services (preference for Azure)

Supervisory Responsibilities: The position might require supervisory responsibilities, including training employees, assigning work, and assuring quality throughout any deliverables Certificates and Licenses:

• A valid driver’s license is required.

Work Environment:

• Fully remote work with occasional business trips.
• Occasional long periods of sitting while working at a computer.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.
• Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the firm and with external vendors and clients as needed.

Independent travel requirement: up to 10%.
