Purpose of the Ethical Trade Manager role at Primark:


To develop, oversee, and drive impact of a structured portfolio of programmes, partnerships and interventions that support Human Rights Due Diligence and positive social impact in Primark’ supply chain in Pakistan.



Oversight of the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes and partnerships in both factories and lower tiers of the supply chain that support Primark’s global approaches and priorities across key labour rights workstreams including remediation of critical short-term issues and support to longer-term systematic change to tackle the root causes of key human rights risks in the supply chain. The role requires deep knowledge of labour rights issue in the Pakistan context; excellent strategic programming and partnership management skills; relationship building; extensive engagement across the business; and a focused and committed approach to ongoing learning and continuous improvement with available resource optimisation. What You’ll Do as an Ethical Trade Manager – Solutions


  • Develop and manage a strategic Ethical Trade solutions portfolio for Pakistan, aligned with Primark’s global Human Rights Due Diligence priorities.
  • Oversee programme and partnership management, including contract oversight, financial controls, due diligence, and impact evaluation (MEL).
  • Lead remediation efforts across Tier-1, Tier-2, PCP mills, GNFR, etc., conducting root cause analysis and building cross-supply chain prevention strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including NGOs, trade unions, law enforcement, and government labour departments.
  • Generate reports, data analysis, and case studies to track and communicate the progress and impact of initiatives.
  • Represent Primark in national and international platforms and support policy advocacy and collective dialogue within the sector.


What You’ll Bring

  • Strong project and programme management experience, especially across complex, multi-stakeholder ethical trade or human rights initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of labour rights and human rights issues in the Pakistan garment/textile sector, including familiarity with national regulations and international frameworks (e.g. UNGPs).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience managing partnerships and conflict resolution.
  • Experience designing and delivering capacity-building or remediation programmes in supply chains.
  • Proficient in IT tools (databases, spreadsheets), with strong data reporting and analysis capabilities.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu (Punjabi is desirable); strong professional network in labour rights and trade compliance in Pakistan.
