About the Role

You'll play a key role in ensuring all things Accounts Payable are running smoothly and on time. You'll be the go-to person in the business for processing supplier invoices, managing payments, and keeping supplier accounts accurate and up to date. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help maintain strong supplier relationships and support the wider finance team in delivering reliable financial operations.

Please note that this role will be based at our office in Lahore (Upper Mall), with on-site workdays from Monday to Thursday and a Friday as an optional work-from-home (WFH) day. The normal working hours will be 10 am - 7:00 PM PKT.

About You 

This is a great opportunity for a Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable looking to kick start their career in an ambitious scale-up. We’re looking for someone who has strong numerical abilities, is confident working with excel, and most of all is a keen team player and keen to advance their finance knowledge and capabilities!

The main focus will be on owning our Accounts Payable function and playing a key role within our month end reporting. Attention to detail is key and you should be able to prioritise and plan your work according to deadlines.

Reporting to our Financial Controller, you’ll be joining our agile and talented finance team. We love problem solvers and showing initiative and a keenness to learn will be key to success in this role. We’ll be asking you to hit the ground running, learning the ins and outs of our finance function and getting to grips with our ERP system so you can develop a broad understanding for delivering on all things Accounts Payable and providing finance related support across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage the accounts payable mailbox, responding to queries and processing incoming invoices to the accounting system
• Prepare and complete weekly payment runs, ensuring correct approvals and payment details
• Be the key contact on all things invoicing and payments with the production team based in China, overseeing the factory payment run process and ensuring timely and accurate payment to suppliers in alignment with production schedules
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Complete daily bank reconciliations to ensure accurate recording of cash and banking transactions
• Reconcile our virtual card transactions weekly
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier records
• Assist with month-end close activities related to Accounts Payable as required
• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve Accounts Payable processes for greater efficiency and accuracy
• Regularly review existing procedures and suggest updates to improve internal controls and reduce processing time
• Support the wider finance team with ad-hoc tasks.
  
  

Skills requirements:

• Hands-on AP experience – prior experience in an Accounts Payable role is a big plus, though not a strict requirement.
• Strong Excel skills – we value practical Excel knowledge (think: lookups, data comparisons across sheets) even more than prior reconciliation experience.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable processes – including common AP terms and a working knowledge of different payment methods.
• High attention to detail – we’re looking for someone who is thorough, accurate, and meticulous, especially when it comes to managing payments where there's no room for error.
• Excellent communication skills – you’ll be managing the Accounts Payable inbox and collaborating with teams across China, the UK, and Pakistan, so clear and timely communication is key.
