About The Team

The team is a central part of the Finance Shared Services Department which serves all entities throughout the Careem network. Our aim is to establish a world class centralized accounting function that serves entities across the group. The team consists of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience.

What You'll Do

• Assist the central closing team with timely and accurate bookkeeping and month-end close procedures.
• Development of monthly financial decks and presentations for leadership and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with various finance and business teams to collect and validate financial data.
• Prepare and maintain supporting schedules, reconciliations, and journal entries as part of the closing process.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting deadlines.
• Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting processes.
  
  

What You'll Need

• CA Qualified
• ACCA, ICMA or related field
• Strong understanding of financial close processes, accounting principles, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., Oracle); experience with automation tools or process improvement frameworks is a plus.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Proactive, self-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Minimum 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in accounting principles, and practices, including general ledger, accounts payable/ receivable, financial reporting, and audits.
• Knowledge of Oracle ERP R13 functionality, including modules relevant to accounting (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting Close) would be preferred
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel, MS Access, Power Query) would be preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, interpret data, and solve complex problems.
• Excellent communication, written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
