Role Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Backend Heavy Engineer with a strong passion for backend technologies and a solid understanding of JavaScript frameworks. The ideal candidate will drive backend improvements, apply efficient coding practices, and contribute to the overall success of our development processes.

Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Develop, maintain, and optimize backend systems using JavaScript technologies.
• Codebase Improvement: Continuously enhance the codebase with clean, efficient, and scalable code.
• Database Management: Handle and optimize database operations, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Deployment: Manage and deploy applications on AWS, Digital Ocean, or other cloud platforms.
• Testing & Code Coverage: Strengthen the testing infrastructure to increase code coverage and ensure the robustness of backend modules.
• Monitoring & Alerting: Elevate the monitoring and alerting capabilities of backend modules to enable proactive improvements in availability and response times.
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
• Continuous Integration & Deployment: Collaborate in setting up CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of backend systems.
• Research & Innovation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously innovate and improve backend solutions.

Qualifications:

• 3-4 years of professional experience in backend development with a focus on JavaScript technologies (Node.js, Express, etc.).
• Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Digital Ocean, or other cloud deployment platforms.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines and containerization (e.g., Docker).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Proficiency with Git for version control and collaboration.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems with innovative solutions.

Additional Skills:

• A keen awareness of the latest trends in web technology and a continuous learning mindset.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.

Bonus Skills:

• Open-minded and keen to learn new things and grow with the team
• Experience with testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Mocha, Chai, Jest) to ensure high code quality.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and setting up effective alerts for backend services.
