We have ambitious plans to significantly scale our existing business, broaden our product suite, and continue to grow revenue profitably year on year, with a clear roadmap of how we will get there. We are looking for a full-time Instructional Designer / E-Learning Developer to work on our e-learning courses.
The Instructional Designer / E-learning Developer will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and together they will ensure the creation of effective, engaging e-learning experiences that meet business goals while contributing to a positive and results-driven working environment.
The successful candidate will be able to transform subject matter expert (SME) scripts into engaging, effective e-learning experiences. The candidate will also collaborate with SMEs, videographers, and stakeholders to create courses that are visually appealing, instructional sound, and tailored to adult learners.
What you will be doing:
- Translate SME scripts into structured, interactive e-learning modules.
- Apply instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy) to ensure knowledge transfer and learner engagement.
- Storyboard learning experiences, including visuals, narration, activities, and assessments.
- Work closely with videographers to align recorded content with course design.
- Integrate video, graphics, animations, and interactive elements into the course.
- Ensure accessibility standards (WCAG, closed captions, screen-reader compatibility) are met.
- Adapt content for various formats (SCORM/xAPI for LMS, microlearning, mobile-friendly learning).
- Partner with SMEs to refine scripts and ensure accuracy of content.
- Liaise with project managers to meet timelines and deliverables.
- Provide feedback and direction to creative teams (videographers, graphic designers).
- Test and review course functionality across platforms and devices.
- Conduct pilot sessions, gather learner feedback, and iterate improvements.
- Maintain consistency in branding, tone, and instructional quality across all courses.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in instructional design and e-learning course development.
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional strategies, and learning technologies.
- Ability to storyboard, script learning interactions, and create assessments.
- Experience with LMS platforms and publishing standards (SCORM, xAPI).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and learner-centered design mindset.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Graphic design or video editing experience (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, After Effects).
- Knowledge of gamification strategies in e-learning.
- Familiarity with data-driven learning analytics to measure course effectiveness
