Pavago is on the lookout for a Junior Database Developer to support our client’s team in maintaining and optimizing database systems. This role is perfect for someone with a solid foundation in SQL, and database management, and a willingness to collaborate with ETL engineers to ensure efficient data operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Database Maintenance and Optimization: Ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of database systems. Optimize database tables and architecture for efficiency.
• SQL Query Development: Write, test, and optimize SQL queries to support business requirements and data workflows.
• Database Administration: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including backups, indexing, and performance tuning to keep the database running smoothly.
• Collaboration with ETL Processes: Work closely with ETL engineers to support data integration processes and ensure seamless data flow.
• Azure Database Management: Manage and maintain databases hosted on Microsoft Azure, leveraging its tools and features for optimal performance.
• Data Integrity: Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
• Basic ETL Understanding: Provide support and insight for ETL processes and assist in basic ETL-related tasks when necessary.

Requirements:

• Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience as a SQL Developer, Database Administrator, or in a similar role.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries. Experience with database optimization and indexing. Basic knowledge of ETL processes and their role in data management. Familiarity with Microsoft Azure for database management.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in maintaining data integrity.
• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively document and communicate technical issues and solutions.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

You’ll focus on maintaining and optimizing database systems, writing and refining SQL queries, and collaborating with ETL engineers to support seamless data integration. Additionally, you’ll troubleshoot database issues, monitor performance, and ensure data integrity to meet project goals.
