Role Overview:

We are seeking a Junior Software Quality Assurance Automation Engineer with about 1 year of experience in test automation using Cypress and Appium. In this role, you will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites for web and mobile applications to ensure high software quality.

You will work closely with an Agile team to contribute to automation excellence and quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications (Cypress) and mobile apps (Appium).
• Support creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test data for validating business and technical requirements.
• Perform manual testing for exploratory and new feature validation as needed.
• Help integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Participate in functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure test coverage and quality.
• Report and track defects using Jira or similar tools.
• Contribute to improving the QA automation framework for scalability and maintainability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups and sprint planning.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in manual testing or automation testing (internships or projects may count).
• Basic hands-on experience with Cypress (JavaScript/TypeScript) for web automation.
• Some exposure to Appium for mobile (iOS/Android) automation testing is preferred.
• Understanding of API testing with tools like Postman or RestAssured.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development/testing lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with eagerness to learn and grow.
