Purpose
To manage the workflow stream and administration of the entire legal function within the cluster in close liaison with external bodies such as DLD (Distribution Legal Department), legal counsels and others.

Handling Legal And Litigation Matters
Ensure that department operates in accordance with all the applicable health, safety and environmental protocols leading towards safety and well-being of staff & public.

Areas Of Responsibility

- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the teams.
- Lead development, change management and objective structurization plans.
- Co-ordinate the performance management review process – probationary, mid and annual reviews; regular catch-up meetings with individual team members on periodical basis.
Handling Legal And Litigation Matters
- Pursue cluster’s consumer cases which require legal and litigation involvement.
- Advising IBCs and other departments in cluster office on their day-to-day queries and legally assisting them in all matters requiring dispute resolution.
- Provide legal & litigation support to the cluster head on priority matters.
- Study consumer history thoroughly and prepare cases to be filed at relevant forum as per SOP.
- Coordinate & Manage Legal Affairs arising out of billing disputes.
- Ensure meeting targets pertaining to recovery from litigation.
- Analyze and draft comments/responses for cases at all legal forums such as EIK, Federal Ombudsmen, NEPRA, Lower and High Courts, Secretary Energy etc.
- Keep track of Legal notices and try to resolve the issues, if not then make the case and forward it to the Legal Department of KE.
- Take regular updates from internal and external panel of Lawyers regarding the cases forwarded.
- Attend hearings in Federal Ombudsman, EIK, Civil Court & High Court or at any other legal forum on behalf of company.
- Conduct Meetings and negotiate with consumers for "Out of Court" settlements on disputed/recoverable amounts
- Maintain & update data base of all legal cases of the cluster.
- Preparing periodical litigation review reports presented to the higher management; assessing potential risks and possible outcomes.
- Improve customer satisfaction through proper record keeping, conducting timely investigations, ensuring due follow ups and providing feedback within stipulated time.
- Coordinate with regional office, IBCs, KE Legal Department, external counsels, regulatory bodies and other stakeholders as deemed necessary for routine matters and for other issues that may arise from time to time.
- Act as a brand ambassador of KE and build relationship with external stakeholders i.e. law enforcement agencies, local bodies and their representatives, influential & political leaders of the area etc.
