This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Job Role / Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for overall coordination of the research project which involves preparation and update of project documents, communication with collaborators and investigators, implementation of project in the field sites and compilation of various reports. Specific responsibilities include to:
- Overall supervision of administrative and maintenance functions at the Matiari Research Center to ensure compliance with organizational policies and the smooth execution of project activities;
- ensure effective resource planning and control, including allocation of resources, establishment of distribution criteria, analysis of consumption patterns, and implementation of measures to prevent misuse or abuse of resources;
- lead fleet management operations at the Matiari Research Center, ensuring optimal utilization of both AKU-owned and outsourced vehicles;
- ensure the fleet remains in good working condition through timely repair and preventive maintenance in accordance with AKU protocols;
- supervise drivers and assign duties based on operational requirements and the needs of research staff, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance;
- lead and oversee all repair and maintenance activities of the Matiari Research Center to ensure uninterrupted and smooth execution of project activities;
- maintain strong liaison with relevant functional departments at AKU to ensure compliance with institutional policies, standards, and procedures;
- supervise and coordinate event management activities, including meetings, conferences, seminars, and official visits, ensuring effective planning and execution;
- manage all logistical arrangements, required approvals, and transport and travel coordination in close collaboration with relevant functional leads and the Project Principal Investigator;
- establish and maintain strong liaison with government authorities and community stakeholders to support the smooth implementation of project activities;
- ensure that all required permissions, approvals, and regulatory clearances are obtained and in place prior to the commencement of new project activities
Requirements:
You should have:
- Master’s degree in business/economics/administrative sciences or equivalent;
- 6 to 8 years of work experience on administrative position preferably in Health Care Organization;
- excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to describe complex ideas in clear and meaningful forms and to present data and information to various audiences;
- ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively;
- resilience and ability to cope up with work pressure and stringent deadlines;
- demonstrated ability to work in a professional, multi-disciplinary team as a group leader, facilitator, or participant;
- ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to work under pressure with patience and poise;
