Job Description:

Our organization is seeking an accomplished Manager in Voice over IP (VoIP) with a profound understanding of open-source technologies, including Asterisk, SS7, and SIP. The ideal candidate will also bring expertise in vendor management, interconnects, load balancing, rate card creation, and Call Number management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • VoIP Infrastructure Management:
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and optimization of VoIP infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Manage interconnects with external vendors and carriers.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with VoIP vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Collaborate with vendors for system upgrades, issue resolution, and overall service improvement.
  • Interconnects and Testing:
  • Coordinate and manage interconnects between internal and external VoIP systems.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies for interconnects to guarantee seamless communication.
  • Load Balancing:
  • Implement and manage load balancing solutions between interconnects to optimize performance and ensure redundancy.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve load balancing issues to maintain continuous service availability.
  • Rate Card Creation:
  • Develop and maintain accurate rate cards for VoIP services.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing strategies to remain competitive.
  • DID Management:
  • Oversee the management of Direct Inward Dialing (DID) resources, ensuring proper allocation and utilization.
  • Implement and enhance DID provisioning processes.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead a team of VoIP engineers, providing guidance on technical matters, project management, and vendor interactions.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Implement security measures to safeguard VoIP infrastructure and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess security posture.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for interconnect configurations, rate cards, DID allocations, and vendor agreements.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer within the team and contribute to organizational knowledge repositories.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Manager in VoIP with expertise in Asterisk, SS7, and SIP.
  • Strong background in vendor management, interconnects, load balancing, rate card creation, and DID management.
  • Proficiency in negotiating contracts, SLA management, and vendor relationship building.
  • Familiarity with industry compliance standards and security protocols.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
