Medical Billing Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller with expertise in Office Ally EHR and Practice Management (PM) software. The ideal candidate will have strong billing skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with providers, insurance companies, and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Charge Entry: Accurately input patient charges into the billing system.
• Patient Chart Creation: Create and maintain detailed and accurate patient charts.
• Payments Posting: Post payments from patients and insurance carriers promptly and correctly.
• Benefits and Eligibility Verification: Verify insurance benefits and patient eligibility over the phone to ensure accurate billing.
• Accounts Receivable (A/R) Carrier Follow-Up: Conduct diligent follow-ups with insurance carriers to resolve outstanding claims.
• Denials Management: Investigate and resolve claim denials efficiently to optimize reimbursement.
• Reports Generation: Compile and analyze billing and performance reports for internal use and decision-making.
• Patient Billing and Support: Handle patient billing inquiries, including answering phone calls. (Note: Patient call volume is generally low.)

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in medical billing.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Office Ally EHR and PM is required.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and insurance guidelines.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, patients, and insurance carriers.
• Ability to manage sensitive patient data with the utmost confidentiality and reliability.
• A “can-do” approach to challenges, with a willingness to collaborate and adapt as needed.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn new processes and systems to stay up-to-date with billing and healthcare practices.
• Flexibility to connect with the billing manager as needed to ensure seamless workflow and communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in medical billing/coding (CPB, CPC, etc.)
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.

Shift: Night Shift 8pm - 5am (US Business Hours )
