Purpose

The Street Light Surveyor will be responsible for conducting detailed surveys of streetlights to ensure their proper functionality, compliance with standards, and coordinating with stakeholders of relevant civic agencies for endorsement and incorporate into billing. The role involves inspecting, recording, and reporting streetlight conditions burning, non-burning, collaborating with relevant teams, and ensuring accurate data collection for effective planning and improving SL billing efficiency.

Education

Minimum DAE / B-Tech in Electrical/Electronics

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
• Previous experience in surveying, electrical maintenance, or similar roles is an advantage.
• Comfortable with walking, climbing, and performing physical tasks as required during inspections.
• Familiarity with local streetlight regulations and standards is a plus.
  
  

Area Of Responsibilities

• Streetlight Inspections:
• Conduct on-site inspections of streetlights, poles, fixtures, and associated electrical infrastructure, PMT’s Feeders.
• Identify and document issues such as Day time burning SL lights, damaged poles, wiring faults, or other safety concerns.
• Conduct thorough surveys accurately with exceptional attention to detail & offers actionable insights, highly dependable and inspires others with excellent professionalism, timeliness in completing surveys, quality of reporting and communication, initiative and problem-solving ability and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Data Collection and Reporting:
• Record detailed information regarding the condition, location, and type of streetlights using maps, GPS, and other surveying tools.
• Compile survey data into standardized reports for review by supervisors and relevant departments.
• Recommend actions for repairs, replacements, or upgrades based on survey findings.
• Stay updated on new technologies and techniques in streetlight data maintenance and surveying.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with multiple teams and local authorities to ensure timely completion of surveys and submit reports to incorporate updated load into billing in a timely manner.
• Participate in joint surveys with other departments and agencies.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure all inspections are conducted in compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and local regulations.
• Report any potential hazards or urgent safety concerns immediately.

• Awareness of Distribution Network and equipment
• Understanding of relevant SOPs, guidelines and quality standards
• Knowledge of maintenance and operation on network equipment
• Knowledge of understanding HT/LT network SLD
