PHP/JavaScript Developer (Transition to WordPress Backend Development)

We are a software agency seeking a skilled PHP or JavaScript developer to join our team full-time at our Lahore office. In this role, you will use your expertise to build custom WordPress solutions, including plugins, themes, and API integrations. For JavaScript-focused candidates, we offer the opportunity to transition into WordPress Backend development while leveraging your JavaScript expertise for modern WordPress features like Gutenberg and Rest API integrations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins and themes.
• Collaborate on planning and building scalable, reusable solutions for WordPress projects.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex backend issues in WordPress and optimize performance.
• Work with WordPress database structures (MySQL) and optimize queries.
• Leverage JavaScript for WordPress REST API integrations and Gutenberg block customizations.
• Follow secure coding practices to ensure the integrity of projects.
• Document all developed features and processes clearly for internal and client use.

Requirements:

For PHP Developers:

• Strong expertise in PHP (minimum 2+ years).
• Familiarity with MySQL, database optimization, and backend architecture.
• Knowledge of WordPress-specific concepts like hooks, filters, actions, and REST API.
• Proficiency in debugging tools and techniques for backend issues.

For JavaScript Developers:

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (minimum 2+ years), including ES6+.
• Experience with React.js or building interactive features using JavaScript.
• Familiarity with working on APIs, including integration and development.
• Willingness to learn and work with PHP and WordPress backend.

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory):

• Experience with modern PHP frameworks.
• Familiarity with WordPress Gutenberg block development.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices.
• Experience with Git for version control.
