A Little Bit About The Ambr Group

The Ambr Group was formed after the merge of two global operators and acquirers of 3rd-party consumer products brands, Suma and D1 Brands in April 2023. We are founders, operators, and eCommerce veterans who have built and run companies with billions of dollars in online revenue. We love building brands and celebrating the entrepreneurs who get them started. We're always looking to add exceptional people who are ready for a challenge and to take our business to greater heights. If you are passionate about e-commerce and building the future of digital commerce, we would love to meet you!

The Ambr Group team comes from a wide variety of professional backgrounds and countries, but we all share a few core beliefs. Here are a few:

  • Responsibilities include evaluating existing suppliers and supply chain structures, optimizing suppliers including disintermediating suppliers, and re-sourcing to improve responsiveness, optimize costs and reduce risk
  • The scope will include supporting existing products, and the new product development process
  • Scope will also include counter sourcing products made in China to other viable countries with a similar or more advantageous cost structure
  • The category manager will be responsible to lead project teams that include brand management, supply chain, new product development, and suppliers and third party buying offices

Requirements, Skills & Qualification

  • Minimum of 5 years of total experience, with at least 2 years as a Category Sourcing or Procurement Manager (or similar) in a CPG company, national retailer, or procurement consulting company (or similar)
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Language: Ability to lead projects and influence senior management in English;
  • Nice to have: Ability to communicate in basic Mandarin or Cantonese
  • Ability to travel globally up to 25% of the time
