Job Purpose

• To plan, organize, and manage production facility and engineering maintenance system to meet business requirements per HSE&S standards. To provide direction within the production teams to meet production plans within the agreed quality and budget.
• Functionally lead, and develop production team members as per business requirements.
• To work with the site team to create a culture of functional and operational excellence and continuous improvement to drive the overall AkzoNobel strategy for improved and leading performance.
• To manage hazards and respond effectively to hazards in safety, health, security, and environment.
  
  

Key Accountabilities

• As a member of the site management team, contribute to formulating site objectives from a production perspective, ensuring site capabilities, constraints, and HSE considerations are incorporated into the plan.
• Coordinate production activities to meet objectives and budgets related to HSE, quality, service, and cost.
• Lead and participate in Health & Safety, Security, and Environmental activities.
• Collaborate on plans to improve HSE, quality, service, and costs with the Site Management Team.
• Assist in defining and executing production-related investments.
• Work with RD&I on New Product Initiatives.
• Lead Daily Operational Reviews and problem-solving efforts.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement activities.
• Comply with corporate and site policies.
• Prepare maintenance studies for production flexibility.
• Monitor and evaluate process safety parameters.
• Ensure compliance with ISO Standards.
• Oversee departmental training and plant KPIs.
• Foster commitment to company purpose and values.
• Manage employee engagement and diversity.
• Plan and manage budgets. Support other departments.
• Participate in daily production meetings.
• Enforce technical specifications.
• Coordinate shipments to customers.
• Update and optimize factory flow.
• Cross-train staff for site agility.
• Develop RCCP for all business units.
• Work with Planning, R&D, and commercial teams to reduce inventory.
• Drive site restructuring efforts. Coordinate with planning and procurement teams.
  
  

Experience & Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 7-10 years of paint or chemical manufacturing or liquid batch manufacturing experience
• 5+ years of previous supervisory/management experience
• Experience working in a Process Safety Management Covered Process
• Effective leadership, interpersonal skills, performance management, and people development skills required
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with clear prioritization and organizational skills
• Effective communicator with all levels of the organization (employees, managers, customers)
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc.)
