Job Description
CERP, in collaboration with Lums Centre for Entrepreneurahip (LCE) hosted at LUMS, is launching a Women Health (Femtech) Innovation Hub to address the critical gap in femtech startups that cater to the health needs of low-income women in Pakistan. This initiative seeks to complement existing primary healthcare services by fostering startups that are agile, innovative, and capable of designing tailored health solutions. As the Program Manager for this Health Incubator, you will lead efforts to incubate and accelerate startups through a strategic cycle of incubation, pilot testing, commercialization, and scaling.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the health sector, with direct experience in health startups and incubators. You will be responsible for engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including health experts, government bodies, and NGOs, leveraging your strong stakeholder engagement skills to build and maintain crucial partnerships. Your expertise in epidemiology, health economics, or health analytics will play a pivotal role in guiding the incubation of startups focused on developing viable, culturally attuned healthcare solutions tailored to the unique needs of women in Pakistan.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the Incubation Program: Manage the full lifecycle of the health incubator program, from startup selection to commercialization and scaling. This includes conducting hackathons, roadshows, and collaborating with medical universities and other incubators.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with health experts, government officials, and NGOs to foster partnerships essential for the program’s success. Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, managing relationships and coordinating with strategic partners like RSPN for rural outreach.
- Team and Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the incubator, ensuring that all activities align with the hub’s objectives. Manage a team responsible for the incubation process, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Research and Data Analysis: Utilize a data-driven approach to monitor the impact of the incubation program on women's health. This includes collecting and analyzing data on startup ecosystem dynamics, product and market fit, and health outcomes.
- Financial Oversight and Sustainability: Develop and manage the project budget in coordination with the finance department. Implement income-generating activities to ensure the long-term sustainability of the hub.
- Mentorship and Support: Provide mentorship to startups, helping them navigate the regulatory landscape and access funding. Leverage CERP’s Global Fellows network and NICL’s resources to offer expert advice and support.
- Policy and Strategy Development: Develop strategies that incorporate gender policies effectively throughout the incubation process. Use insights gained from the program to influence health policies and practices.
- Impact Evaluation and Reporting: Conduct rigorous evaluations to assess the effectiveness of health innovations. Prepare and present detailed reports on the program’s impact, showcasing health, social, and economic benefits to stakeholders and funders.
- This position requires a deep understanding of the health sector in Pakistan, excellent program management skills, and a proven track record in leading health-related startups or working within an incubator environment. The role demands a commitment to advancing women's health through innovative and sustainable solutions.
This is NOT an exhaustive list of tasks that you will be performing as a Project Manager. You may be assigned additional tasks on other CERP Projects as deemed necessary by your reporting points, Project or CERP management, or the CERP Board
