Scrum Master

Octopus Digital (Subsidiary of Avanceon) is seeking a highly motivated Scrum Master to facilitate Agile processes and ensuring that the development team adheres to Scrum principles. The Scrum Master will work closely with Product Owners and Development Teams to deliver high-quality, value-driven products on time. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitation of Scrum Events: Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure the team stays on track and aligned with project goals.
• Support the Development Team: Act as a servant leader to the development team, helping to clear any blockers or impediments that may hinder progress.
• Coach in Agile Best Practices: Mentor team members and the wider organization on Agile and Scrum methodologies, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Promote Continuous Improvement: Encourage the team to reflect on performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to increase efficiency and quality.
• Ensure Alignment with Product Owner: Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to make sure the team understands the product vision and the backlog is well-prioritized and clear.
• Track and Report Progress: Monitor the team’s progress toward goals and provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on sprint outcomes, velocity, and project health.
• Foster Team Collaboration: Promote a culture of collaboration, open communication, and accountability within the team and across departments.
• Remove Obstacles: Identify and resolve blockers that are preventing the team from reaching their goals, whether they be technical, operational, or interpersonal issues.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to foster a positive team environment.
• Experience using Agile project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex team dynamics.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
