Requirements:
- CA or ACCA qualified accountant.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working remotely with a UK-based accounting firm.
- Proven proficiency in accounting software, including Xero, FreeAgent, Sage Line 50, VTT+, Iris, and Taxcalc.
- Experience in data migration from Sage Line 50 to Xero is a plus.
- Strong understanding of VAT, accounting principles, and UK tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff.
- A proactive, results-oriented team player with a positive attitude.
- Experience using video conferencing and collaboration tools for remote work is a plus; MS Teams is the platform used.
- Process financial transactions, maintain general ledger accuracy, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare value-added tax (VAT) returns, manage VAT calculations, and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
- Collaborate with the tax team to prepare accurate and timely corporate and individual tax returns.
- Review and mentor junior staff on accounting processes, VAT calculations, and tax return preparation.
- Assist with the creation of financial reports, analyze trends, and provide insights to management.
- Maintain a strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and relevant industry best practices.
- Multi-core processor (Intel Core i10 or latest), 16GB RAM, dual display setup, webcam, and headset/microphone.
- A reliable, high-speed internet connection that is stable and consistent. A backup internet connection (e.g., mobile hotspot) is highly recommended.
