Purpose

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all mechanical systems and equipment. The key responsibilities typically include:

• Maintenance and Reliability:
  
  

Overseeing the maintenance of mechanical systems such as turbines, pumps, compressors, valves and high-pressure equipment's to ensure they are functioning optimally. This includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to avoid unplanned outages.

• Safety and Compliance:
  
  

Ensuring that all mechanical PM/CM activity been carried out must comply with safety standards. This includes implementing maintenance safety protocols to protect both personnel and equipment.

• Emergency Response and Troubleshooting:
  
  

Quickly responding to mechanical failures or emergencies, ensuring that the plant can return to normal operations as swiftly and safely as possible.

• Documentation and Reporting:
  
  

Maintaining detailed records of mechanical systems checklist, inspections, maintenance, and upgrades. This documentation is critical for audits, compliance, and ensure continuous improvement.

Education

DAE/Diploma in Mechanical Technology from a recognized institute.

Knowledge

Should possess good knowledge of Mechanical maintenance specializing in rotary equipment. Must be familiar of mechanical maintenance trends, troubleshooting and good maintenance practices.

Should be familiar with general safety rules and regulation.

Should have Computer knowledge such as Microsoft Office

Experience

At least 10 years of experience of working in Mechanical maintenance section of power plant/fertilizer/oil & gas sector in capacity of Senior Mechanical Tech or equivalent.

Area Of Responsibilities

Health &Safety, Environment and Quality Management (7%)

• Work as a custodian of safety rules.
• Comply with all safety norms and regulations set by the company and ensure implementation of standards for maximum safety during course of his work.
• Ensure proper risk analysis and participate in tool box talk with team members before starting the work.
• Before taking work permits, shall personally ensure that all required isolations are done.
  
  

Administration (3%)

• Ensure timely execution of PMs as per maintenance plan.
• Maintain record of all maintenance and service activities on daily basis in readily presentable format.
• Extend support, guidance and training (wherever possible) to colleagues and newcomers for technical development.
  
  

Plant Maintenance (90%)

• Responsible for performing major overhaul jobs, troubleshooting, breakdown maintenance, preventive and predictive maintenance of high-speed turbomachinery i.e. Multistage Centrifugal pumps, compressors, steam turbine and auxiliary equipment’s.
• Conduct routine maintenance activities on mechanical systems at the combined cycle power plant, including turbines, compressors, and pumps.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures on mechanical systems and make repairs as necessary to ensure reliable plant operation.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment and systems.
• Document maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to the maintenance supervisor.
• Assist other departments within the plant as necessary to support plant operations.
• Keep up to date with industry developments and advancements in mechanical maintenance practices.
  
  

Area of Responsibility Continued

• Perform mechanical maintenance activities at the combined cycle power plant to ensure efficient and reliable plant operation.
• To maintain and keep the mechanical maintenance record of plant.
• Liaise with other departments within the plant, including operations, electrical, Instrument etc., to ensure that maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the plant's maintenance schedule, and that all necessary documentation is completed and filed.
• Keep up to date with industry developments and advancements in mechanical maintenance practices and make recommendations for process improvements and technology upgrades as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and investigate any safety incidents or accidents that may occur during maintenance activities.
