About The Role

TaxGPT, a cutting-edge Silicon Valley-based firm, is revolutionizing the tax consultation space with its AI-driven solutions. With the backing of some of the world's most prominent venture capitalists, we are on an ambitious mission to redefine the tax industry.

As we scale, we’re hiring a Senior Front-End Engineer with 5+ years of experience who’s passionate about crafting high-performance, intuitive user interfaces. You’ll collaborate closely with product designers, backend engineers, and other team members to deliver polished, performant, and scalable web applications.

Key Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development with modern JavaScript frameworks—React.js (Next.js preferred).
• Strong command of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Expertise in performance optimization, browser rendering, and caching strategies.
• Proven track record building responsive, accessible (WCAG-compliant) interfaces across devices and browsers.
• Hands-on experience with design systems and component libraries, including Storybook, TailwindCSS, Redux, Zustand, and Context API.
• Proficient with Figma for interpreting and collaborating on high-fidelity design specs.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, and experience with WebSocket integrations.
• Exposure to OpenAI APIs or building interfaces that integrate AI/ML workflows is a significant plus.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools like Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, and similar tools.
• Comfortable with modern development workflows including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing tools such as Jest and Cypress.
• Experience contributing in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in sprint planning, and delivering iterative front-end solutions.
• Familiarity with backend systems (Python and Django).
  
  

Job Responsibilities

• Own the front-end experience for TaxGPT's core platform, building fast, clean, and reusable components.
• Translate complex product requirements and UI/UX designs into fully functional web interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and back-end engineers to iterate and ship features quickly.
• Conduct code reviews, uphold PR review best practices, and mentor junior front-end developers.
• Optimize web performance across browsers and devices for superior user experience.
• Ensure high accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Contribute to UI/UX improvements and help shape the design system for scalable development.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in front-end development and AI coding tools, proactively integrating improvements into the workflow.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in professional front-end development
• Highly proactive and comfortable making product decisions independently

Once you pass the initial screening, you'll receive a programming assignment to be completed within 7 days.

Note: This is not a paid assignment. We encourage you to use AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, and GitHub Copilot to complete it.

Step Three: Technical Interview (45-Minutes)

If you pass the programming assignment screening, you will be invited to a 45-minute video interview. The interview will include 30 minutes for reviewing your programming assignment and answering technical questions, followed by 15 minutes for general Q&A.

Step Four: Founder 1:1 & Final Offer (30-Minutes)

A 30-minute 1:1 meeting with our founder to discuss your final offer.
