Senior Software Engineer - Magento & WooCommerce

About the Role:

TEKHQS is looking for an experienced and passionate Magento & WooCommerce Developer to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in developing, customizing, and optimizing eCommerce platforms using both Magento (2.x) and WooCommerce, with a focus on performance, scalability, and user experience.

This is a senior-level hands-on role, requiring strong technical skills, solution-oriented thinking, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with design, marketing, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Development & Customization

• Develop, customize, and maintain Magento and WooCommerce-based websites.
• Implement custom themes, extensions, and plugins for both platforms.
• Modify and extend platform functionalities as per business requirements.
• Ensure all implementations align with eCommerce best practices and scalability standards.
  
  
  

2. Integration & API Management

• Integrate third-party systems, including payment gateways, CRMs, and shipping APIs.
• Develop and manage RESTful APIs to ensure seamless communication between systems.
• Handle complex migrations between Magento and WooCommerce with data integrity and uptime.
  
  
  

3. Performance Optimization

• Optimize website speed, caching, and database performance.
• Conduct regular code reviews, debugging, and QA testing.
• Implement advanced caching and indexing for improved performance on high-traffic sites.
  
  
  

4. Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Collaborate with UI/UX Designers, Marketers, and Developers to deploy new features.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior developers.
• Participate in client discussions to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
  
  
  

5. Security & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to PCI-DSS and eCommerce security standards.
• Apply security patches, system updates, and monitor vulnerabilities.
• Maintain secure environments across all deployments and integrations.
  
  
  

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in Magento (2.x) and WooCommerce development.
• Hands-on experience managing end-to-end eCommerce projects.
  
  
  

Technical Expertise

• Proficient in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), AJAX.
• Deep understanding of Magento architecture, module development, and custom theming.
• Strong experience with WooCommerce hooks, filters, and plugin development.
• Familiar with Git and deployment best practices.
• Basic knowledge of server environments (Apache, Nginx) and cloud hosting setups.
