Solar Design Engineer (SDE)

• The Solar Design Engineer (SDE) will be responsible for Comprehensive Site Survey, Feasibility Studies, Solar PV design, Detailed BoQ, and project commissioning.
• Solar System Design: Design Solar PV Systems based on site conditions, and applicable codes and standards.
• System Sizing and Configuration: Determine optimal size and configuration of solar systems by analyzing factors such as energy consumption, available space, shading analysis, and system performance.
• Equipment Selection: Select appropriate solar components including, solar panels, inverters, mounting structures. Prepare detailed BoQ listing equipment requirements and specifications.
• Design Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation, including system layouts, electrical diagrams, structural calculations, and equipment specifications, to support the construction and installation process.
• The SDE will work with the contractor in finalizing of project design, contract drawings and financial estimation
• The SDE will supervise project installations and oversee contractors’ work including ensuring compliance with HSE standards on site with regards to client’s HSE policy.
• The SDE role includes, but not limited to, quality inspection of Electrical and civil works, engineering documentation and quality assurance plans and their monitoring. It will also involve conducting site audits to collect structural, electrical, and related site information for use in the design of solar power systems.
• The SDE is also responsible for managing on-site project inventory, review and check compliance of BoQs, Drawings and design simulation reports
• The SDE will prepare energy yield simulation using PVsyst/Helioscope.

• A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant Solar System Designing is mandatory.
• Minimum BSc Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineer.
• Thorough knowledge of key equipment like modules, inverter, mounting structure types, DC/AC cables, batteries etc.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities, demonstrated or titled position, (oral/written/presentation/interpersonal) to drive results in a team environment under minimal direction with internal and external customers
• Good analytical and project management skills
