Solutions Architect

JOB SUMMARY:

Solution Architects are hands-on leaders responsible for designing scalable, production-grade systems while guiding senior engineers through complex challenges. With deep expertise in Node.js, AWS, and modern frontend frameworks, they shape technical architecture, ensure system reliability, and align engineering solutions with business goals.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the most difficult tasks directly and also guide senior engineers with the solution and assistance
• Go-to expert for solving team issues should they arise
• Design, document, and implement core solution-based components to be used by the software team - e.g., message-based communication architecture to be used by many
• Software features within the system, a PIM-based processing system to run 2k+ jobs in parallel
• An expert at understanding and implementing solutions that do not need to be rewritten, that can scale 2/5/10x+
• Having led teams of 5-10+ resources in production environments for 10+ years while also contributing directly to the code base
• Fluent in English, expert communication skills - can understand complex technical issues and summarize in plain language
• Business acumen - ability to understand not only technical but also business needs, and be able to code/architect solutions that help push the company forward
• 4 hour overlap with MST, ability to flex for meetings as needed - e.g., company update, ad hoc client meetings
• On-call production support - to work with DevOps/etc, to establish production coverage for any outages, including communicating issues, debugging/troubleshooting, and getting other engineers/DevOps involved.
• Work with CST & Support for engineering escalation tickets
• Direct code contributor - coding more complex tasks and/or features to improve quality and throughput
• Work closely with the client to establish processes, architecture, software backlog, etc

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of Production level experience in Software Development with a strong focus on backend(Node.js, Express.js, Nest.js) and frontend (React.js, Next.js) technologies, along with Architecture design skills
• Expert in Node.js, min. 10+ years of production experience
• Proficient to expert with 10+ years of production experience with the following:
• AWS
• DocumentDB or MongoDB equivalent
• SQL databases (any)
• Cache systems (e.g., redis)
• GIT
• Containers,
• Linux / command shells
• Scripting
• Regular expressions
