Overview

Responsibilities Conducting Assessments

• Conducting assessments to identify specific learning disabilities or difficulties, and to assess students progress and monitor their ongoing needs.

• Collecting information from various sources including school records, parents, classroom observations and other professionals to help with identifying individual learning needs.

Creating an Inclusive Learning Environment

• Create and provide resources that reflect on the students diverse learning needs, backgrounds and experiences.

• Foster a safe classroom environment where all learners feel secure, valued and respected regardless of their disability and/or additional learning needs.

• Providing direct instructional support to students that need help.

• Provide small groups or one to one support for students who need individualised support or remediation.

Differentiated Instruction

• Modify teaching strategies, lesson plans and assessments to meet varied learning needs, abilities and interests of all students including those with learning disabilities and advanced abilities.

• Provide individual visual aids, hands on learning opportunities or one on one support for learners that require additional help.

Collaboration and Teamwork

• Work with teachers and other education professionals to ensure that learners with special needs receive appropriate support

- Collaborate with parents to better understand their child's needs and progress, by ensuring a positive and supportive home- school partnership Requirements

• Training on Special Education Needs (SEN) is essential.

• A background in teaching either at Early Childhood Development Education or Primary education will be an added advantage.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and engage with all stakeholders.

• Deep understanding of inclusive education practices and learning disabilities.

• Proven experience working with students with different abilities and educational needs.

• Knowledge of assistive tools to support diverse learners.
