The lab focuses on Site Reliability, Platform, DevOps, and Systems engineering, to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. We’re in a stage of optimisation, and we have significant areas we want to increase our capability and improve our unique selling point The lab excels in their field and have a very responsive SRE team that ensures customer requests are dealt with in a safe, secure, and timely manner to the highest of standards. They also manage a backlog of strategic work which is regularly delivered to tight plans, using agile practices This is a hybrid role across four teams that make up the lab. There are significant leadership responsibilities that focus on driving a service approach to some teams while instilling a product mentality with others. You’ll work closely with an engineering lead to deliver strategies that enable us to achieve our ambitious goals. These goals will focus on maintaining the highest levels of service to our internal and external customers, while also delivering and managing new services and patterns that improve our cloud capabilities and can be used across LBG Leading delivery of services from concept through to full production implementations, which will require managing multiple external dependencies and interested parties, is critical. Quickly unblocking technical, business or compliance challenges for your initiatives will be a part of your day to day! • SRE Service Management and Customer Satisfaction.
• The teams USP and overall Modernisation Strategy.
• Owning Incident Response for all Application services supported.
• Planning, leading, and delivering dependencies for client’s applications on time.
• Financial management of the lab to ensure the value delivered is high.
• Product and initiative backlogs.
• Infrequent need to participate in out-of-hours level 3 severe incidents.
• Own strategic change initiatives for our cloud platform.
• Setting lab objectives and guiding the lab in achieving key results.
• Non-engineering support for SRE innovation projects to achieve project delivery within estimated timescales.
• Risk reduction.

• Leading in a high velocity DevOps and SRE team and instilling a safe, open, and critical-thinking ethos.
• Led in shaping agile backlogs to deliver new products to production.
• Owner of crucial processes and procedures that may have severe consequences if not adhered to.
• Defining key SRE targets and metrics (SLI/SLO/SLA)
• Knowledge of Azure, or Google cloud platforms.
• Excellent customer and partner management.
• Excellent DevOps/DevSecOps skills with experience in platform engineering and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Technical Architecture Design Principles
• Understands good Microservice Design and API standards
• Some technologies you should understand very well
  • Kubernetes/AKS/GKE – Specifically how to deploy, debug and manage internal Kubernetes services and the banks workloads that run on the platform
  • Istio/Helm/Prometheus/Kiali/KEDA/Jager
  • Open container packaging and lifecycle (OCS) with Docker or Podman
  • Cloud Native network components such as NSG/UDR/VNets
  • Load Balancers/Application Gateways & API Managers
  • Greenfield Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions Pipelines
  • Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Pulumi
  • Bash/Shell/PowerShell Scripting
  • PSRule/TerraTest/ Terraform Test/Junit/Cypress/Jest
