System Administrator

AutoScale Ventures is seeking a talented System Administrator to join our team of 30+ people distributed in the USA, Pakistan, and the Philippines. Since 2009, AutoScale Ventures has operated a collection of Internet businesses, with current businesses related to proxy services, vehicle data, and remote work. Core Hours & Benefits:

• Core Hours: Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm US Pacific Time.
• On Call: As we deal in infrastructure business therefore needs to be available on call after core hours as well on as necessary basis.
• Base Salary: 900 USD per month (paid weekly)

Required experience:

• Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management.
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup or recovery
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
• Familiarity with technical concepts
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience using traditional web technologies
• Minimum of 3 years work experience
• Experience administering Linux/CentOS servers
• Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl or other languages.
  
  
  

This role involves:

• Installing and configuring software
• Handling technical support cases
• Documenting the technical support troubleshooting notes
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues and bug fixes
• Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure through access controls, backups and firewalls etc.
• Manage network servers and technology tools
• Set up accounts and workstations
• Upgrade systems with new releases and models
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
• Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
