GENERAL DESCRIPTION

STE Activities:
o Responsible for validation of feature software for new JLR ECUs, this code across multiple ECUs to single

ECU level depending on product and systems.
o Responsible for development of test cases, methods and scripts (automated and manual) from the

system and software requirements and gain concurrence from system and subsystem requirement
owners. You’ll carry out and conduct the test cases and plan automated tests on a variety of test
environments including HIL Rigs and Vehicles. Play a key role in test case automation/execution in a
range of test automation frameworks.

o Guide and mentor Test Engineers on Way of Working for System Testing activities and deliverables
o Contribute in providing an open environment to explore ideas and collaborate.

Responsibilities

The supplied resource shall provide the following documents as a part of their deliverables:

• Clear capture of all tasks undertaken in Jira - Requirement & design review findings in Excel and/or Jira -

Test designs created in Confluence and/or Lucid - Test Cases in Xray and Git - Test configurations in Git -

Defects raised in Jira with referenced test logs - Comprehensive capture of all knowledge generated in

Confluence

• General deliverables and approaches:

• Collaborate within Agile squad(s) to enable delivery of high-quality software, in line with the

requests from the Product Owner, aligned to coding practices, standards

• Continuous Delivery methods:

• Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including

hardware engineers, software developers, quality assurance engineers, and project managers, to

ensure a smooth integration of the software ECU solution with other components.

• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues that may impact the software ECU solution's

delivery or performance. Develop mitigation strategies and work closely with the product squads to

address and manage these risks effectively.

• Documentation and Technical Communication: Create and maintain technical documentation, including

Test Plans, Test Designs, Test environment requirements and configurations. Communicate clearly and

document any Test Artefacts delivered in accordance with JLR standards and aligned to the Definition of

Done within the squad.

• Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Continuously seek opportunities to improve the software

Testing method and strategy and propose innovative approaches to enhance test coverage.
