Job Title: Document Writer – Software Development
Location: Lahore, Pakistan (On-site)
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST)
Department: Software Development
Reports To: Head of Software Development
About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Document Writer to join our Software Development Department. This on-site role will play a vital part in creating, organizing, and maintaining high-quality technical and process documentation that supports internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has a strong command of technical writing, excellent organization and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with software engineers, architects, and project managers to translate complex technical concepts into clear and user-friendly documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including system design documents, API references, user manuals, process flows, and technical specifications
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, project managers, and architects to gather information and understand project requirements
- Convert technical jargon into clear, concise, and structured content for various audiences (technical teams, clients, end-users)
- Standardize documentation practices across the department ensuring consistency in format and language
- Support proposal and bid documentation for client projects in collaboration with the Pre-Sales and Project teams
- Review, update, and maintain version control of all technical documentation
- Assist in creating training materials and onboarding manuals for new team members
- Ensure that all documentation complies with company standards and is kept up to date as systems evolve
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Computer Science, Technical Writing, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in technical documentation or content writing (preferably in a software development environment)
- Familiarity with software development concepts, SDLC, APIs, and cloud technologies is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Confluence, Google Docs, or other documentation platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple documentation tasks simultaneously
- Must be willing and able to work on-site in Lahore
- Availability during 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time is required
