Technical Lead (On-Premises & Cloud)

ibex is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to drive the architecture, design, and deployment of both on-premises and cloud-based environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise across traditional datacenter infrastructure and leading public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on experience in design/deployment skills, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams in delivering secure, scalable, and resilient IT solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Active Directory, Exchange, and virtualization environments.
• Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of on-premises infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization platforms.
• Drive the adoption and integration of public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) in alignment with enterprise IT strategy.
• Define and implement hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, ensuring interoperability, scalability, and robust security.
• Serve as the technical authority for infrastructure solutions, providing expert guidance to operations and project teams.
• Mentor and develop IT team members, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into practical, high-performing solutions.
• Lead and oversee migration initiatives from on-premises to cloud environments, optimizing hybrid deployments.
• Establish and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices across all infrastructure domains.
• Direct proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives for new cloud and infrastructure technologies.
• Ensure all infrastructure designs comply with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiatives to enhance agility and performance.
• Provide ongoing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers to promote operational excellence.
  
  

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud solutions, managing enterprise IT environments, hardware, and hosting services, with at least 5+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong expertise in on-premises technologies, including:
• Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V
• Active Directory and identity management
• Storage systems and datacenter operations
• Deep knowledge of public cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS), including:
• Cloud architecture and landing zone design
• Networking, security, and IAM frameworks
• Cloud-native services
• Proven experience in hybrid cloud architecture and cloud migration strategies.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices and enterprise IT operations.
• Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to write architectural design documents or review design documents provided by others.
• Familiarity with modern monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Datadog).
• Experience working in large-scale, global enterprise environments.
• Relevant certifications preferred, such as:
• ITIL 4
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, or equivalent.
