If you’re passionate about developing your career, while helping others along the way, come join the Broadridge team Senior Data Protection-Storage Engineer Broadridge is hiring a Senior Data Protection-Storage Engineer to join their Infrastructure Storage & Data Protection Engineering Team. In this role you will manage the Data protection & Storage Engineering activities. You will be the key focal SME to offer supporting the environment, providing guidance, coaching, & mentoring the team members
Responsibilities: Prepare project plans, provide estimates for project tasks, and assist with prioritization in relation to capacity planning and performance analytics Work on establishing the Storage strategy and way forward Design, deploy, and administer storage infrastructures Analyze and specify technology opportunities and make system recommendations Ensure project documents are completed, current, appropriately stored and handed over to the Operations team within the relevant timescales Participate in project team meetings to represent the Data Protection & Storage SMEs and provide input on project design and architectures Make sure there is a smooth changeover from the old technology system to the new one Provide guidance on Automation and Orchestration orchestrate wherever it is possible Work closely with relevant stake holders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s) Make sure that each stage of a deliverable is progressing on time and to the relevant quality/standards Determine requirements, develop specifications, architect a solution, and implement it in a timely manner Agree clear project scopes, objectives, deliverables, priorities, and timescales Keep abreast of all Storage technologies and corresponding complementing technologies Continually assist in updating roadmaps and future state documents Ensure project status reports to stakeholders are submitted by ensuring regular and accurate blogging and updates of projects and activities Ensure project deliverables are clearly defined, planned, prioritized & kept on track and within scope Act as a technical touch point for members of the team, offering guidance, coaching, mentoring and support
Requirements: Degree or equivalent experience (10+ years) in large Storage Environment The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical An ability to think ‘outside of the box’ with a long-term view, when recommending solutions Organizational skills are required to ensure compliance with corporate standards Supports recovery efforts in the event of systems failure or disaster Candidates must have the ability to motivate and lead others in a positive manner and ensure the group’s work gets done in a timely fashion Strong research initiative, a self-starter at locating relevant documentation, support and process assistance Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate with a variety of individuals at all levels is required The ability to influence others in a politically correct manner, so that objectives are met, is required Must possess a solid understanding of software and/or hardware systems used in assigned area
Working Environment: Hybrid - This position offers a Hybrid or Remote optional working environment
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Enterprise production hosting experience with the following platforms: Experienced in managing and operation backup environment running backup management software tools such IBM TSM Spectrum/Storage Protect, TSM Storage Defender Suite, Dell EMC Data protection Suite, and Cohesity Experienced in and clear understanding of daily backups, monthly, long-term backup retentions, and Immutability options Experienced in automation of data protection and data recovery process Backup Replication technologies Should have experience and very good understanding of backup and recovery/restore methodologies Clear understanding of data recovery time or point objectives Should be able to generate and automate the reports for error handling and executive overview Experience and understanding of Dell EMC fiber channel storages and NAS storage systems deployment, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting NetApp FAS deployment, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting Should be able to analyze the application/DB requirement to map it with storage performance Tiers Experience in Cloud Based backup and Storage Technologies are desired
Expectations: Flexibility to travel if needed Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and on weekend rotational calls Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position Perform other responsibilities as assigned
