The role



SMEC is seeking for a 'Talent Acquisition Specialist' to join our business operations in Pakistan. Key Responsibilities

Functional



  • To source internal and external employees with skills, knowledge, qualifications, experiences and remuneration expectations relevant to the position

  • To short list both internal and external employees with the right capabilities and value alignment

  • To guide and educate Hiring Managers/Stakeholders in conducting reliable and valid capability assessments of shortlisted candidates

  • To validate the qualifications, work eligibility, past performance and fitness for work of internal and external employees

  • To communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, applicants and Hiring Managers/Stakeholders regarding all matters pertaining to the recruitment and selection of future/employees

  • To comply with legislation and policies relevant to the recruitment and selection of employees


Individual



  • To work as reasonably directed by reporting Manager / Divisional HR Head and Divisional of Talent Acquisition Head on activities and tasks pertaining to tenders and bids and ongoing project requirements

  • To proactively communicate with internal Hiring Managers/Stakeholders within an assigned portfolio to understand their businesses at the team level from a task and culture perspective

  • To take a recruitment brief and document outputs on all roles

  • To proactively source candidates using a combination of channels as per a sourcing framework

  • To report on the progress of job orders, and manage the transactional completion of job orders

  • To communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, applicants and Hiring Managers/Stakeholders regarding all matters pertaining to the recruitment and selection of employees

  • To seek Divisional Talent Acquisition Head sign off for any combined advertising expenditure

  • To shortlist candidates as per the criteria identified in through one or more of the following: resume screening, phone screening, aptitude testing and interviews

  • To provide advice on and construct reliable and valid capability assessment frameworks as per a selection framework

  • To coordinate interviews on behalf of the Hiring Managers/Stakeholders, and as requested attend these interviews within reason

  • To seek Divisional Talent Acquisition Head sign off for any recruitment agency engagements

  • To validate the qualifications, work eligibility, past performance (references) and fitness for work of internal and external employees

  • To decline unsuccessful candidates and where possible coach Hiring Managers/Stakeholders to provide feedback to unsuccessful internal applicant

  • To comply with legislation and policies relevant to the recruitment and selection of employees


Technical and Practical Professional Expertise



  • To collect mobilization documents from experts for ECCL Contract Process as per rules and regulation.

  • To provide professional support and advice on best practice recruitment and selection to regional and functional managers

  • To ensure full compliance with policies and, in association with the local HR team, review and maintain standards, policies and procedures in relation to the provision of a recruitment and selection service

  • Successful Bid Support

  • Total Closed Positions

  • Reduce Agency Supported Search


Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Has a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline

  • Has 5++ years of experience on expatriate or international recruitment and placement and local recruitment for Engineering Consulting Firm

  • Has knowledge of CV Database Management, applicant tracking systems and candidate management systems

  • Has ability to conduct different types of interviews (i.e., structured, stress, competency based and behavioral)

  • Has good communication skills

  • Has familiarity with social media, especially LinkedIn and other job boards

  • Has ability to work independently with minimal supervision
