Under the general supervision of the department supervisor and under the direction of the Advanced Imaging Cardiologist, performs routine and specialized cardiac CT procedures at an advanced skill level. Performs procedures to produce cardiac computerized tomographic images according to established practices and procedures.
As post holder your duties would include but are not limited to the following:
Performs CT Scan; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns
Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately
Positions and transfers patients comfortably
Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety protocols
Prepares and maintains electronic documentation as required by the profession and the department
Appropriately segments and archives images and exams
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas, requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times
Attends meetings as required
Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by:
Complying with all applicable safety regulations
Learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors
Reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions
Identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increase safety
Participating in safety education and root cause analyses as required
Maintains and develops policies, procedures, protocols, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops
Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation
Academic Qualification: BS in Medical Technology
Experience: 3 – 4 years of relevant work experience
Good communication skills verbal & written
Developing good coordination with other clinical teams to ensure good communication and multidisciplinary approach
Sound interpersonal skills, flexible & reliable
Enthusiastic, assertive, caring & compassionate
Integrity and a professional attitude
Self-motivated, self-directed, Dynamic & supportive
