As a Payroll Specialist, you\'ll join the Finance function of our Core Business Services (CBS) team and you will help support the important business enablement functions that keep our organization running strong. As a CBS professional, you will work across teams to provide the knowledge, resources and tools that help EY deliver exceptional quality service to our clients, win in the marketplace and support EY\'s growth and profitability.

Reporting to the Finance Lead, and working as a member of the payroll team, this role is responsible for the efficient processing of the monthly payroll for approximately 1,000+ salaried employees and the related day-to-day payroll operations. In addition, this role offers the opportunity to be a critical team member in the implementation and testing of new/enhanced payroll systems.

Key responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities will be to:
  • Ensure accurate / timely monthly payroll processing while maximizing efficiencies, maintaining operational standards, and adhering to department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate employee records are maintained in payroll database eg; new hires, salary changes, leavers.
  • Prepare Journals of payroll at month end and provide the Accounts department to post in accounting software and to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Resolve payroll queries by answering questions.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and remain up to date with all payroll legislative changes and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist in implementation and testing of Global HR system (SAP) including interfaces and custom design.
  • Conduct payroll analysis as required, reconcile Payroll Liability G/L accounts monthly and make required adjustments.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Attend to any other duties or special projects as assigned.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
  • A bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in relevant discipline.
  • At least 3-5 years of Payroll experience and relevant accounting experience in accounting/reconciliations of payroll liabilities accounts and knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Experience in processing payroll of 1,000 or above employees will be an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (with advanced Excel skills) and SAP.
  • Experience in dealing with regulators.
