Full time Full dayPOSITION PURPOSE
Effectivelymonitor the daily operations of the Banquet Department, includingproviding support and guidance to fellow banquet personnel to ensure asuccessful and effective operation ending in a positive guest experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Review all written communication,i.e., resumes, daily/weekly, MEOs and BEOs to determine appropriate staffinglevels, room/station assignments, buffet décor and enhancements as they relateto banquets and meeting room set-ups. Communicate all changes within theBanquet Department and adjusts according to the above items. Communicateinformation to the kitchen and other supportive departments prior to and duringevents
Responsible for maintaining astrong client relationship and ensuring that all convention specifications arecommunicated to and executed by company operating departments making for asuccessful meeting experience for the meeting planner and attendees. Maintain constant communication with the Convention Service/Catering SalesManager as it applies to the client at hand.
Responsiblefor the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings whilemaintaining standards of food, beverage and meeting specifications. Communicate all daily activities, in person or by log, to the other banquetpersonnel to ensure smooth transition and follow-up from one function toanother.
Responsible for the developmentand maintenance of all policies, procedures and quality standards within thedepartment, utilizing a continuous improvement approach to ensure a highquality, cost effective and customer focused operation.
Responsible for the developmentand implementation of a training plan to ensure a high-quality presentation andlevel of customer service within the banquet service/function service staffs.
Manage, in conjunction with theExecutive Steward, the inventory, control and breakage/loss reduction of china,glass and silver as it relates to function services and banquet services.
Give daily support and guidance tofellow banquet personnel as well as monitor job performance to ensure asuccessful meeting/banquet experience by our guests.
Maintain a high level of serviceby constantly training and coaching all direct reports and staff.
Inspect and oversee thecleanliness and maintenance of all function space, public areas, and serviceareas on all banquet levels. Coordinate with Housekeeping and Engineeringto ensure the highest level of product delivery.
Responsible for monthly schedulingand payroll for the Banquet Department.

Education: Bachelors/Intermediate
3 years of experience in relevant field (Gulf experience isa plus)
