Close & Control Specialist - ICSS Gulf

Note: This role will be based in Karachi

Job Purpose:

The Close & Control (C&C) Specialist is responsible for delivering right first-time reporting, which is insightful, fast and supports the business to develop accurate plans in a strong controls and assurance environment. The role helps to deliver the Finance vision of a “world class finance function recognized by industry, the profession and our people” which underpins the GSK vision.

Strong expertise with accounting principles to ensure correct application to financial statements. Furthermore, need to be able to accurately implement controls & compliance for audit and work closely with Tax & Statutory Reporting team, internal and external auditors on statutory & tax related queries and activities.

Education & Experience:

Graduate / ACCA / ICMA / MBA & other similar qualification

Experience: minimum 3-5 years of working experience.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger & Accounting operations

• Work closely with Commercial, Supply Chain Finance and other accounting teams to ensure a smooth month end, quarter end and year end closing




• Accountability to review P&L and Balance Sheet to ensure completeness and accuracy and ensuring variances are investigated and resolved.




• Preparation & review of balance sheet reconciliations.




• Review of fixed assets including right of use assets, intangibles, and related assets under construction

Reporting

• Ensure submission of all corporate reports are per corporate timelines, financial reporting is per IFRS and GSK corporate guidelines




• Support any local Statutory reporting and internal and external audits tax / audit queries

Others

• Support identification of opportunities for savings, building effective relationships with support functions and working as one team




• Ensure KPIs reflect customer expectations of service, where possible adopt Global KPI metrics




• Ensuring robust internal controls and regulatory compliance through applicable policies, procedures and processes




• Support implementation of process simplification and efficiencies




• Support global projects, when applicable
