Job Description
As a cashier in a hospital, your primary responsibility would be to handle financial transactions related to patient care, such as collecting payments for medical services. As post holder, you are responsible for the tasks such as but not limited to the following:
- Collect payments from front desk officers for medical services rendered by the hospital, including copays, deductibles, and balances due.
- Use computerized systems to process financial transactions and update patient accounts with payment information.
- Respond to patient inquiries about billing and financial matters, including researching and resolving billing discrepancies and errors.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and patient account information, including recording all payments received and updating patient account balances.
- Timely deposit all cash into designated bank accounts and reconcile with records.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to patients and their families, including answering questions and addressing concerns related to billing and financial matters.
- Coordinate with other hospital departments, such as admissions and billing, to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
- Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory requirements related to financial transactions and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience as a Head Cashier prefereably in a Healthcare Organization/ Hospital
