Network Engineer

Job Description

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our network infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and optimal performance. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of routing and switching protocols and possess knowledge of authentication protocols such as RADIUS, Single Sign-On (SSO), form-based authentication, and Windows-based authentication.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
  


• Configure and maintain network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
  


• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues or outages to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
  


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions based on business requirements.
  


• Perform network capacity planning and recommend necessary infrastructure upgrades or changes to meet future demands.
  


• Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and access control policies.
  


• Configure and support network authentication protocols such as RADIUS, SSO, form-based authentication, and Windows-based authentication.
  


• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems and technologies.
  


• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to networking and security.
  


• Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
  


• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment such as Cisco routers and switches.
  


• Knowledge of network authentication protocols, including RADIUS, SSO, form-based authentication, and Windows-based authentication.
  


• Experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and access control.
  


• Familiarity with network monitoring tools for performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  


• Ability to analyze complex network issues and provide timely resolution.
  


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  


• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
  


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
