The Role: Lead Data Steward
Grade: 10 (Relevant for internal employees only)
The Location: Islamabad, Pakistan
The Team: The Private Ownership Data Management team delivers research, content, and analytics about private capital markets, including private equity and venture capital firms, their investments, and funds. Our data is used to support deal sourcing, fundraising, data exploration and valuation analysis by investment bankers and private equity professionals. We are providing expertise in private equity data, assisting with client requests, and helping Product and Commercial teams with their engagements with current and prospective customers. Key part of our role is to support development of the new solutions for private capital markets across various data delivery channels (feeds, platforms, etc.), covering both self-sourced data and the data we received from third parties/ vendors.
The Impact:
This is a senior role in the team: it is highly collaborative and focuses on bringing together various stakeholders to form and successfully execute business strategies through customer-centric projects. The successful candidate will work within the context of a cross-functional team aligned between Data Management, Operations Managers, Product and its support functions and Agile development teams.
The role requires excellent project management, data analytics, critical thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end delivery of the Private Ownership data projects (requirements gathering and consultation, groundwork & analysis, sizing, collaboration with Technology and Product teams on implementation)
Development of business logics to integrate and transform various Private Capital Markets data facets from multiple sources into internal data structures
Work with AGILE Technology teams to complete the design of various dataset specific and relationship centric projects and processes/tools while partnering with other Content teams on the shared structures
Collaboration with Product Teams on identifying key client requirements and converting them into projects for successful implementation
Converting raw complex data into easy-to-understand information through data visualization
Analyze and uncover inconsistencies in large amount of data supplied by third-party providers by utilizing SQL knowledge and propose solutions to address them in S&P Global products
Support client requests across all the areas of the dataset
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Qualifications:
Self - starter with innovative and effective problem-solving skills
Proven track record of successful delivery of complex projects, particularly in content-related domain
7+ years of work experience including data management in a financial market data intensive environment
Sound knowledge about backend infrastructure (tables/pipelines/loaders, etc.)
Good understanding of S&P Products such as Capital IQ Pro, Capital IQ, Excel Plug-In, feeds, etc.
Hands on experience in writing and developing SQL Queries (joins, exist/not-exist, group by, having, cast, etc.)
Experience in Data Mining, Analysis and Visualization
Ability to work collaboratively across segments and cultures
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Excellent time management skills, ability to meet strict deadlines
Strong communication skills
Willing to work evening shifts and flexible hours
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Private Equity Dataset
Project Management/ AGILE Certification
Knowledge of BECRS and CompanyRel product offerings.
Basic understanding of Python
Working knowledge of Visualization Tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.)
