Job Description
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet Patients: Warmly welcome patients and visitors as they arrive at the OPD. Offer assistance and guidance, ensuring a positive first impression of the hospital.
- Patient Check-in: Efficiently register patients for their appointments, collect necessary personal and medical information, and update existing patient records in the hospital's electronic database.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage appointment schedules, ensuring efficient utilization of available time slots while accommodating urgent cases and emergencies appropriately.
- Patient Inquiries: Address patient inquiries, both in-person and over the phone, providing information about services, appointment availability, and general hospital-related inquiries.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical services when required.
- Coordinate with Medical Staff: Communicate with medical staff, nurses, and other departments to ensure a smooth patient flow and timely coordination of services.
- Maintaining Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic details, medical history, and contact information.
- Cash Handling: Process patient co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, and maintain appropriate cash handling procedures.
- Handle Emergencies: Remain calm and composed during emergencies, providing immediate assistance, and notifying appropriate medical staff or security personnel.
- Multitasking: Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including attending to phone calls, handling paperwork, and addressing patient inquiries, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Office Management: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized reception area, ensuring that all necessary supplies are stocked.
Qualifications
Minimum Graduation or 16 years of qualification in the related field
Experience: 1 - 2 years of relevant experience specifically in patient billing & discharge process
