What is the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) team responsible for?

  • Enterprise Data Office (EDO) team leads the development of a data driven culture that encourages collaboration, enabling FT employees to derive maximum value from our data assets. The EDO is responsible for establishing standards, guidelines, and processes used to maintain common, firmwide data standards to protect FT’s critical information assets#MID_SENIOR_LEVEL

What is the Senior Enterprise Data Specialist responsible for?

  • Senior Enterprise Data Specialist is responsible for establishing standards, guidelines, and processes used to maintain common, firm-wide data standards to protect FTI’s critical information assets. Develops, maintains, and implements strategies that increase the consistency/confidence of data used for decision making, improving knowledge firm wide. Provide expertise, experience and support in solving business problems by implementing practical data governance solutions using data governance tools and processes

What are the ongoing job responsibilities of Senior Enterprise Data Specialist?

  • Assist in the development of data governance policies, procedures, and best practices required to support governance and stewardship across FTI

  • Assist with the deployment of programs and initiatives developed in support of governance and stewardship within a LOB

  • Work with stakeholders to understand their data privacy needs and requirements and provide them with appropriate solutions

  • Conduct research and analysis on emerging data privacy trends, best practices, and technologies and recommending improvements and innovations

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, such as IT, legal, security, privacy and vendors, to ensure alignment and integration of data privacy solutions

  • Develop and implement data classification policies and procedures to identify and categorize data according to their sensitivity and business value

  • Apply data classification labels and metadata to data assets and ensuring consistency and accuracy across different data sources and platforms

  • Perform data discovery and mapping to locate and inventory data across the organization and assess their classification status and risk level

  • Create and maintain data classification standards and guidelines and educating data owners and users on their roles and responsibilities

  • Review and updating data classification schemes and tools to reflect changes in data types, regulations, and business needs

  • Provide support to data and governance related communities

  • Perform impact analysis of regulatory, business, and system changes to Data Governance programs and initiatives, data domains and relevant data governance policies and procedures

  • Analyze gathered information and metrics for trends, risks and issues

  • Recommend process improvements, revisions to documentation, training and/or communication to support the ongoing enforcement, interpretation, and revisions of FTI standards and best practices

  • Works closely with Enterprise Data Advisor to understand and refine business requirements

  • Assists in the development of business-oriented training materials for data owners, business stewards and key constituents

  • Consults with strategic and business project teams as a subject matter expert

  • Serves as liaison for governance and stewardship related tools

  • Documents business requirements associated with enhancements and maintenance to governance and stewardship related tools as required; tracks to completion, including scheduling, status reports, and user testing

What ideal qualifications skills & experience would help someone to be Successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or related field or equivalent

  • Typically has 8-12 years of related work experience

  • Work experience in the banking and financial services industry is preferred

  • A good understanding of data privacy regulations and standards

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Hands on experience or knowledge on data classification, data catalog tools preferably Informatica EDC (Enterprise Data Catalog)

  • Hands on experience or knowledge on managing Data Privacy tools

Work Shift timing - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
