Position Title: Community Outreach & Engagement Coordinator


Reporting To: CEO Secretariat


Job Location: Islamabad


Duration: 12 months


Work week: 5 Days (Monday to Friday)


Work mode: Hybrid


Objectives of the Consultancy:


The consultancy aims at facilitating community engagement and outreach initiatives for the organisations for cultivating strong relationships, host impactful events, provide comprehensive information, and foster collaboration within diverse communities. Through strategic planning and execution, the consultant will establish and maintain positive relationships with community members, local businesses, government agencies, and stakeholders. Responsibilities also entail coordinating efforts across provinces to uplift marginalised communities, nurturing relationships with various institutions, and engaging with educational institutions and youth through workshops and outreach programmes. Additionally, the consultant will facilitate community engagement activities, devise dissemination plans, sensitise key influencers, and identify opportunities for capacity building.


Scope of Work:


The Consultant shall perform the following tasks:


 Assist in demonstrating a strategic approach in promoting the collective contributions of aligning organisational strategic outcomes and building positive relationships with key stakeholders at provincial and federal level.


 Assist in executing comprehensive action plans to raise awareness among the masses.


 Coordinate efforts across provinces, ensuring a consistent and united approach to synergise activities to create conducive environment to promote social cohesion and harmony.


 Build and maintain relationships with various institutes, religious forums, thinktanks, public and private institutions, civil society organisations, community-based organisations, and volunteer networks to enhance the organisational outreach and gather support.


 Assist in creating and implementing programmes to engage with educational institutions and youth. This involves organising workshops, seminars, and outreach programmes to educate and involve youth in social change process.


 Organise community engagement activities including local events, community dialogues, and outreach programmes that are culturally sensitive and tailored to the needs of different communities.


 Identify and explore opportunities to build capacity of youth and academia, religious leaders, lawyers, civil society on alternative dispute resolution, social cohesion, and inclusive society.


 Suggest initiatives for enhancing collaboration between government institutions and local communities.


Qualifications and Experience:


1. Possessing an advanced degree such as a Graduate or Master’s) in related fields provides a strong theoretical foundation for the strategic and practical aspects of communication and outreach efforts.


2. At least 10 years' overall experience with 5 years in relevant field.


3. Experience in collaborating with government institutions on projects aimed at promoting the national narrative, building an inclusive society, and fostering social cohesion.


4. Demonstrated experience in promotion of social cohesion, women empowerment, or similar high-impact fields, is crucial. This experience should include designing and executing community outreach activities that effectively engage and mobilize communities.


5. Proven skills in training and mentoring individuals and groups, reflecting the capacity to build capacity within the team and among stakeholders.


6. Experience in working with national/international/ public sector organizations at an international level, and a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of community led development initiatives


7. Experience in conducting community outreach programme, with a focus on grassroots engagement. This demonstrates an ability to understand and navigate diverse cultural landscapes.


8. Fluency in English and Urdu is essential, with knowledge of regional languages considered an asset, facilitating effective communication across diverse communities.


9. Able to take initiative and work well independently and as part of a team.

1. Strong understanding and respecting diverse cultures, norms, and values is essential for effectively engaging with various communities and stakeholders.


2. Strong leadership qualities combined with strategic planning skills are vital for setting and achieving the Centre's communication and outreach goals.


3. Exceptional ability in these areas ensures the effective dissemination of messages, fostering relationships, and engaging audiences.


4. The capability to work efficiently under pressure is crucial in a role that deals with sensitive and potentially volatile subjects.


5. Strong skills in networking and public relations are necessary for building and maintaining partnerships and collaborations across a wide range of stakeholders.


6. The ability to create a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and encouraging mutual support among team members.


7. Regular progress reports documenting program execution and impact.
