Accountant - Tax Specialist

Pak-Arab Refinery Limited Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO), an integrated energy conglomerate, is a Joint Venture between Pakistan and Emirate of Abu Dhabi. PARCO is seeking applications for the position of Tax Specialist.

Job Purpose

To manage tax matters of the company ensuring timely filing of all sales tax / income tax returns, withholding tax obligations, maintaining tax records alongwith regulatory compliances.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate would be CA (CAF), ACCA qualified, MBA (Finance), or with an equivalent professional qualification, coupled with at least 5 years of relevant taxation experience, preferably within a corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sales tax returns, including data compilation, review, and submission including tax annexures
• Perform quarterly advance income tax workings and ensure annual income tax return filing
• Liaise with external tax advisors for timely return submission and resolution on tax related matters
• Perform weekly withholding tax payments and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws
• Compile quarterly withholding tax statements and coordinate with tax consultants for submission
• Maintain proper documentation and records for all tax filings and reconciliations
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring company compliance at all times
• Assist in tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities where required
• Strengthen internal controls related to tax processes and reporting
  
  

Preferred Attributes

• Prior experience in handling tax audits and compliance reviews
• Familiarity with local tax portal systems and e-filing procedures
