Accounts Officer

Job Summary
Ghazlai Education Foundation is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to manage day-to-day accounting operations, including vouchers, cheque preparation, bank dealings, tax withholding, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, timely processing, and compliance with applicable tax and accounting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal vouchers and payment vouchers accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare cheques for payments after proper verification and approval.
• Monitor and manage bank balances to ensure sufficient funds for scheduled payments.
• Maintain systematic filing of all vouchers and supporting documents for easy retrieval and audit.
• Prepare financial and other reports as allocated by the Finance Manager.
• Liaise and deal with banks for transactions, account matters, and related queries.
• Calculate and process withholding tax on salaries, supplies, and services, and ensure correct deduction and timely deposit.
• Perform any other accounts-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
  
  

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (B.Com / BBA / M.Com preferred).
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounts (experience in an educational institution or non-profit organization preferred).
• Working knowledge of withholding tax rules and procedures in Pakistan.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software.
• Good understanding of vouchers, banking procedures, and bookkeeping.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
• Good communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
