JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Officer to join our team based in Lubumbashi, DRC. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations including payables, receivables, bank reconciliations, petty cash, and general ledger maintenance. This role requires a proactive professional who can work independently, maintain accuracy under pressure, and ensure full compliance with financial controls and reporting standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Maintain and manage petty cash fund, ensuring proper documentation and controls.
Record and maintain accurate entries in the general ledger in accordance with accounting standards.
Prepare and assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and management accounts.
Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, controls, and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors for invoice verification and payment processing.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
Liaise with auditors and provide required schedules and supporting documents during audits.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certifications (ACCA, CMA, CPA) will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Proven hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, petty cash management, and general ledger.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
Adaptability to work in a cross-cultural, international environment.
Age preference: 30 years and below.
