AI Engineer
Infāque
Shift Hours: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM PKT (Strict overlap required)
About the Role
We are seeking a high-conviction Forward Deployed AI Engineer who bridges the gap between complex business operations and production-grade engineering. In this role, you will not just write code—you will own business outcomes. Your primary mandate is to solve core business problems with an unyielding focus on two key metrics: increasing revenue or reducing operational costs.
You will act as an end-to-end builder: discovering operational friction, designing agentic workflows, standing up robust knowledge bases, and deploying AI agents into production. We value extreme ownership, pragmatic decision-making, and high execution velocity. We do not hire ticket-implementers or passive question-askers; we hire problem solvers who focus on the Jobs to be Done (JTBD) framework and drive toward sensible, ROI-focused solutions independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Business ROI: Identify operational bottlenecks and implement software or AI agent solutions that directly increase top-line revenue or drastically cut bottom-line costs.
- Build & Deploy AI Agents: Design, test, and operationalize autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents, custom tooling, and retrieval systems (RAG/Knowledge Bases) embedded directly into core business workflows.
- Setup & Lead Agentic Engineering: Establish best practices for setting up agent development workflows, prompt orchestration, evaluation frameworks, and tool integration (e.g., Model Context Protocol / function calling).
- End-to-End Delivery: Own solutions across the entire software lifecycle—discovery, system architecture, database design, API integrations, frontend UI, testing, and cloud deployment.
- Pragmatic Problem Solving: Translate loosely defined operational challenges into reliable, production-ready software with minimal hand-holding.
- Leverage AI Engineering: Daily use of advanced AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) as a force multiplier to ship high-quality code at exceptional speed.
Required Qualifications
- Product & Business Mindset: Deep focus on business operations, ROI, and the "Jobs to be Done" framework. Ability to measure success by business impact, not just lines of code written.
- Core Software Engineering Foundations: Strong, language-agnostic software development fundamentals with experience building microservices, REST APIs, and databases (e.g., Go, TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, modern frontend frameworks).
- Hands-on AI & Agentic Systems: Demonstrated experience building agentic workflows, implementing vector/knowledge bases, working with structured LLM outputs, function calling, and agent orchestration.
- High Signal & Autonomy: Strong analytical capability to unblock yourself, reason through edge cases independently, and ask insightful, context-aware questions rather than basic execution queries.
- DevOps & Infrastructure: Experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Strict Schedule Adherence: Ability to reliably work the 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM PKT shift while maintaining proactive async and live communication.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Outcome-Oriented: You care more about solving the core business problem than defending a specific technology stack.
- Low-Friction Execution: You thrive in ambiguous environments, cut through noise, and reach sensible production solutions quickly.
- Systems Thinker: You understand how operational processes, data flows, and AI tools interconnect to automate business tasks reliably.
