AI SCRUM Master

About The Role

We are hiring a Technical Scrum Master - AI to support Scrum execution across fast-moving AI initiatives.

The role will work closely with AI leadership and technical teams to facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives. The ideal candidate should understand Scrum deeply and know how to apply it in an AI environment where work may include experimentation, evaluation, technical uncertainty, data dependencies, and production delivery.

This role also requires the ability to build AI-powered automations and workflows around sprint planning, task tracking, blocker management, reporting, daily updates, and team follow-ups.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies for AI teams, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Coach the team on Scrum values, sprint discipline, ownership, and self-organization.
• Convert AI priorities into clear sprint tasks with owners, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and definition of done.
• Time-box AI research spikes and experimental work.
• Identify and remove blockers related to data, APIs, environments, QA, integrations, infrastructure, or unclear requirements.
• Coordinate dependencies with engineering, QA, DevOps, data, infrastructure, and security teams.
• Support AI evaluation and QA readiness by tracking test cases, edge cases, validation criteria, and quality checks.
• Build AI-powered automations and workflows for sprint planning, progress tracking, reporting, blocker tracking, and follow-ups.
• Maintain sprint boards, blocker trackers, delivery dashboards, and technical documentation.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress updates for AI leadership.
• Protect team focus by reducing unnecessary interruptions and mid-sprint distractions.
  
  

What are we looking for, and what does it require to be the right fit for this role?

• 3–5 years of experience as a Scrum Master, preferably in a technical software, AI, ML, data, or R&D environment.
• CSM, PSM I, or equivalent Scrum certification.
• Strong understanding of Scrum values, not just ceremonies.
• Experience coaching technical teams through ambiguity and uncertainty.
• Practical understanding of AI/ML workflows and software development lifecycle.
• Ability to understand technical discussions and convert them into actionable sprint tasks.
• Ability to build AI-powered automations and workflows for sprint execution and delivery tracking.
• Strong communication, facilitation, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Experience with Jira, Linear, Trello, Notion, Confluence, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with GitHub for sprint visibility and technical tracking.
  
  

Nice to Haves

• Prior Scrum Master experience with AI, ML, NLP, data science, or LLM teams.
• Awareness of MLflow, W&B, DVC, Grafana, or similar tools.
• Exposure to AI evaluation, prompt testing, model validation, or responsible AI workflows.
• Ability to read basic Python.
• Familiarity with workflow automation tools such as Claude, n8n, Jira automation, Notion AI, or other AI workflows.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup or SaaS environment.
