About Layers

Layers is building the infrastructure layer for the global circular fashion supply chain, connecting secondhand clothing graders and raghouses in Pakistan to buyers worldwide. Underneath the business is a growing set of internal systems: inventory and grading tools, rack house storefronts, demand-matching logic, and supplier dashboards, all of which need to get built quickly and get better continuously. This role sits at the centre of that engine, turning real operational problems into working software.

The Role

We're hiring a Technical Product Manager to own our internal platforms end to end. This role is built for someone who wants to work at the leading edge of how software actually gets built today: using modern AI-assisted development tools to go directly from a real operational problem to working software, rather than writing specifications and waiting for an engineering team to implement them. We don't have a dedicated engineering team building these tools today, and we've designed this role around that reality deliberately, not as a limitation, but as an opportunity for the right person to have far more direct ownership and impact than a traditional PM role would offer. You will be the one who scopes the problem, designs the solution, and ships it, using AI coding tools as your primary building method.

What you'll do

Own Internal Platforms End to End

• Own the roadmap for Layers' internal systems: inventory and grading tools, rack house storefronts, supplier dashboards, and demand-matching logic.
• Translate real operational needs from our supply, grading, and commercial teams into working internal tools, quickly.
• Prioritise what gets built next based on what will actually move the business forward, not just what's technically interesting.
  
  

Build, Using AI-Native Tools

• Use modern AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude Code or similar) to design, build, test, and ship working software directly.
• Make sound architecture and data-structure decisions for internal systems, since you'll be the one responsible for them holding up as they scale.
• Evaluate when it's faster and smarter to integrate an existing tool or API rather than build from scratch, and make that call confidently.
  
  

Iterate With Real Users

• Get tools in front of internal teams and rack house partners quickly, and iterate based on how they're actually used, not just how they were designed to be used.
• Maintain clear documentation so tools remain usable by non-technical staff as they evolve.
  
  

What we're looking for

• Experience in product management, technical program management, or a hands-on technical/builder role.
• Real, hands-on experience building functional software using AI coding assistants, this is the core of how the job gets done, not a nice-to-have.
• Strong product sense: the ability to take a messy, real-world operational problem and turn it into a clean, usable tool.
• Working understanding of data models, APIs, and basic system design, enough to make good architectural decisions independently.
• A builder's mindset: comfortable being the person who ships, not just the person who specs and hands off.
