About The Role

At Andromeda Software, the work we do behind the scenes is what allows every business unit to move faster and serve their customers better.

The Astro IT team builds and maintains the automation that keeps Microsoft 365, the Power Platform, and the tools our colleagues rely on every day running smoothly.

We are looking for an Automation Engineer who enjoys turning repetitive, manual work into clean, reliable automation that quietly makes everyone’s day easier.

This is a role for someone who likes solving small problems before they grow into big ones, and who takes real pride in a script or workflow that simply works.

You will partner closely with our service desk, infrastructure, security, and business unit teams — understanding the need behind each request before reaching for a tool.

You will be supported, mentored, and given the space to take ownership, grow your skills, and build solutions that have visible, lasting impact across every business unit under the Andromeda umbrella.

What You’ll Do

Automate Microsoft 365 & the Power Platform

Build and support the automation our teams depend on across the Microsoft ecosystem.

• Create and maintain Power Automate flows, Power Apps, and Copilot solutions that save people time.
• Help administer Microsoft 365 — Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID — keeping things secure and running cleanly.
• Support everyday service requests escalated from the service desk, from access changes to user provisioning.
  
  

Script & Engineer with PowerShell

Write the scripts that keep the environment healthy and consistent.

• Build clean, well-documented PowerShell to automate common Windows, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID tasks.
• Use Microsoft Graph to keep the environment aligned with company standards.
• Version-control and document your work so the next person can pick it up with ease.
  
  

Build & Maintain Pipelines

Keep automation deploying and running reliably for the teams downstream.

• Build and maintain Jenkins (or comparable CI/CD) pipelines that run automation on schedule.
• Watch pipeline health and resolve issues before they reach the people who depend on them.
• Work with infrastructure and security to keep pipelines safe and well-governed.
  
  

Partner, Document, and Improve

Work directly with internal customers to understand the problem behind the request before reaching for a tool.

• Document every solution: the why, the how, the runbook, and the rollback. A solution is not complete if only one person can understand it.
• Surface recurring manual work and bring ideas to fix it at the root.
• Retire fragile, one-off approaches in favour of shared, supportable patterns the team can reuse.
  
  

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• A service-first mindset and care for the production environments you look after.
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in IT automation, systems administration, or platform engineering.
• Solid PowerShell skills — you’re comfortable building and maintaining scripts.
• Tier 2 IT support experience, ideally in a global or offshore environment.
• Strong skills in documentation and client service.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems.
• Self-driven, detail-oriented, and effective in collaborative, multicultural teams.
• Exceptional communication skills, both technical and user-facing.
• This role works US Eastern Time Zone hours, with some flexibility to adapt as business needs evolve.
  
  

Nice to Have

These aren’t requirements — we’d love to hear from strong engineers regardless. They’re simply where this role has room to grow.

• Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, especially Power Automate.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services such as SharePoint, Exchange Online, and Entra ID.
• Curiosity about AI tools and how they fit into automation — Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or anything you’ve explored.
• Experience with Microsoft Graph or other REST API integrations.
• Experience with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or other CI/CD platforms.
• Familiarity with ITIL-style change management.
