GSF Services SMC PVT LTD is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Clearance Officer with at least one year of experience to manage and process import and export shipments efficiently. The ideal candidate ensures compliance with customs regulations and verifies shipment documentation to facilitate smooth clearance through customs. This role requires proficiency in handling customs brokerage software and coordinating logistics operations to guarantee timely delivery. The Customs Clearance Officer must be adept at working in a fast-paced environment and committed to learning new procedures and industry standards to maintain compliance and operational excellence. Good communication skills in English are essential to liaise effectively with freight forwarders, clients, and regulatory agencies.

In this individual contributor position, the officer will not manage a team but works closely with different departments to ensure seamless transportation and clearance of goods. The officer must have strong organizational skills and a thorough understanding of customs and transportation management systems to verify shipment documentation accurately. This role directly impacts the operational efficiency and compliance adherence of GSF Services SMC PVT LTD in international trade processes, ensuring that shipments are cleared promptly and in accordance with all current customs laws and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process import and export documentation accurately to ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
• Utilize customs brokerage software to prepare, submit, and track customs clearance filings.
• Verify shipment documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate logistics and transportation activities by working with carriers, freight forwarders, and warehousing agents.
• Monitor and interpret customs regulations and import/export restrictions to guarantee compliance.
• Liaise with customs authorities to resolve clearance issues and expedite the release of shipments.
• Maintain records of customs transactions and prepare reports related to import/export activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance customs clearance processes and reduce delays.
• Assist in auditing and reviewing customs procedures to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously update knowledge about changes in customs laws, tariffs, and trade policies.
• Support transportation management systems (TMS) to facilitate shipment tracking and delivery scheduling.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new software, processes, and regulatory requirements to improve operational efficiency.
• Communicate effectively in English to support smooth coordination with international clients and customs officials.
